Rosetta "Rosie" Brooks
Who I am
A Washingtonian, Rosetta has performed extensively in and around the Washington, DC area for over twenty years. She was honored by the Capitol Hill Community Foundation with a “2009 Capitol Hill Community Achievement Award“ for her distinguished service to the Capitol Hill Community. Rosetta has choreographed for the St. Mark’s Players productions of “Oklahoma” and “Little Mermaid.” Rosetta has been a consultant at the Suitland High School for The Arts (Dance Dept.), served as guest instructor at Jones & Haywood School of Dance and also taught dance at St. Peters on Capitol Hill and is currently with KIPP.
She studied and trained with Florence Blackwell, Oleg Tupine, Caroline Tate, Ethel Butler, Kathryn Mullowny and attended Howard University. Rosetta has been on the faculty of St. Mark’s Dance Studio for 50 years and has been awarded the CHAMPS grant for over 20 years. She serves as the Director of the studio and Senior Dance company.
